The definitive mech-action franchise is blowing up the genre once again as Armored Core explodes onto Xbox 360. It’s Armored Core’s 10th anniversary, and the series’ fourth installment is ready to set things on fire. Get ready for an all-new storyline in highly detailed, futuristic 3D environments. Side with one of six factions, each with its own battlefield specialization. Battle multiple enemies as you fly through canyons and rip through cities on 30 electrifying missions. The new Primal Armor defense shield adjusts protection based on battle conditions, while new Boosts give your mech explosive movements and precision control.

Bullet Witch

The year is 2013. Demons have risen on the earth and have created a tidal wave of havoc and destruction. Alicia, a beautiful witch with massive destructive magical powers and an itchy trigger finger, is the last hope for humankind. Take control of her in this post-apocalyptic story of salvation and destruction. Use her fearsome arsenal of spells to turn cities into seas of roaring flames, cast a deadly meteor shower, or summon a murder of crows to consume all which lie in its path. Fire her Gun-Rod using bullets made of the souls of your fallen enemies, which come in all sizes and shapes, and all with their own powerful abilities, including earthquakes and resurrection.

Gears of War

Gears of War was revolutionary enough to earn multiple critics honors at E3 2006, and it’s easy to see why. You’re Marcus Fenix, a soldier with a face chiseled from granite and a will forged from iron. Lead your squad in humanity’s desperate last stand against the Locust Horde, an endless swarm of horrifying creatures. You’re completely outnumbered and outgunned in this third-person tactical action shooter. And you’re the last chance we’ve got. Tactical maneuvers and teamwork are key, cover doesn’t last, and fellow soldiers react with heightened AI. The brand-new Unreal Engine 3 powers Gears of War’s cinematic experience, creating an environment realistic enough to walk into…if you’ve got the guts.

Timeshift

A downtrodden soldier embarks on a government-sponsored time-travel mission and returns to find the world he left altered beyond recognition. Like many shooters, Timeshift gives you the chance to shred bad guys with a wide array of weapons. But the real kicker is Timeshift’s never-before-seen time-control abilities, which let you disrupt and manipulate enemies and the world around you by slowing, stopping, and reversing time. You, however, remain completely unphased. To complete the game’s combat missions, you’ll need to think in four dimensions and use time to your advantage. Oh, and when you think you’ve hit a lull, don’t bother catching your breath. The storyline has an alternate time stream.
